Managing Principals and Investment Professionals
Jonathan H. Kagan Mr. Kagan is a Managing Principal of Corporate Partners. Previously, Mr. Kagan was a Managing Director of Corporate Partners I, which he joined in 1990, and of Centre Partners Management LLC, which managed the Centre Capital funds. He began his career in the investment banking division of Lazard in 1980 and became a General Partner in 1987. At Lazard, Mr. Kagan helped head the corporate finance and capital markets areas. He is or has been a member of the board of directors of a number of NYSE- and NASDAQ-listed companies and private companies. Mr. Kagan received an M.A. (1st Hon.) from Oxford University and an A.B., summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Harvard College.
Ali E. Wambold Mr. Wambold is a Managing Principal of Corporate Partners and, until February 17, 2009, the Chief Executive Officer of Lazard Alternative Investments LLC. He joined Lazard in 1985 and became a General Partner in 1987. From 1999 to February 2009, Mr. Wambold was responsible for Lazard’s North American alternative investment activities. Prior to that, he was a senior investment banker in Lazard's New York and London offices. He was a founder, co-head and board member of Corporate Partners I. Before joining Lazard, Mr. Wambold was a Vice President of Lehman Brothers. He is or has been a member of the board of directors of a number of publicly and privately held companies in the United States and abroad. Mr. Wambold received an M.B.A. in Finance, Marketing and International Business from Columbia University Graduate School of Business, where he graduated with Beta Gamma Sigma honors, and an A.B. in Economics, magna cum laude, from Harvard College. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Michael A. Wildish Mr. Wildish is a Managing Principal of Corporate Partners. Previously, he had over 25 years of business experience, in corporate strategic advice, financial restructuring, investment banking and public accounting, during which he advised a wide range of companies in mergers & acquisitions, corporate restructurings and financings, both domestically and abroad. Mr. Wildish became a General Partner of Lazard Frères & Co. in 1996, having begun his investment banking career at Goldman Sachs & Co. He subsequently led the Technology and Media Mergers & Acquisitions teams at Crédit Suisse First Boston/Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and was Head of M&A at Miller Buckfire & Co. LLC. He is or has been a director of a number of public and privately-held companies. Mr. Wildish received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Commerce with Distinction from the University of Virginia, where he earned Beta Gamma Sigma honors. He is a Certified Public Accountant, having qualified in 1984 while a Senior Auditor at Price Waterhouse & Co.
Paul J. Zepf Mr. Zepf is a Managing Principal of Corporate Partners. Previously, Mr. Zepf was a Managing Director of Corporate Partners I, which he joined in 1989, and of Centre Partners Management LLC, which managed the Centre Capital funds. He began his career with the Merchant Banking Department of Morgan Stanley & Co. in 1987. Mr. Zepf is or has been a member of the board of directors of a number of NYSE- and NASDAQ-listed and private companies. He received a B.A. in Economics, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Notre Dame.
Abbas M. Hasan Mr. Hasan is a Vice President of Corporate Partners. Prior to joining Corporate Partners in 2006, he spent several years as a private equity professional with American Capital Strategies. Mr. Hasan received a B.S. in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, graduating as a Benjamin Franklin Scholar and Joseph Wharton Scholar. He also received an M.B.A from Columbia Business School, graduating with Beta Gamma Sigma honors.
Daniel V. Phan Mr. Phan is an Associate of Corporate Partners. Prior to joining Corporate Partners in 2011, he was a member of the Media & Telecoms Investment Banking group at Deutsche Bank Securities, advising clients on equity and debt financing, buyouts, mergers & acquisitions strategy, capital structure optimization, and company valuation. Mr. Phan earned a B.A. in Economics from Duke University.
